Devkiba Winter Mini Marathon 2020

Devkiba Winter Mini Marathon 2020 was organized by Smt. Devkiba Mohansinhji Chauhan College of Commerce and Science, Silvassa, on Sunday, 1st March 2020.

Beneath a Sun splashed sky and ideal race temperatures and with the motto of the event “Run for India, Run for Fitness”, runners from various walks of life and different age groups were drawn to the marathon. More than 550 runners participated in the marathon.

The Marathon started at 7.00 am with a pre-marathon warm-up activity including stretching and physical exercises followed by release of colourful gas balloons by the dignitaries. The Marathon was flagged off by the Honourable Chairman of Lions Club of Silvassa Charitable Trust Shri. Fatehsinhji M. Chauhan, the Honourable Secretary of Lions Club of Silvassa Charitable Trust, Shri. Devdas Shah, the Honourable Treasurer of Lions Club of Silvassa Charitable Trust, Shri Vishwesh Dave, the Honourable Principal of Smt. Devkiba Mohansinhji Chauhan College of Commerce and Science Prof. Dr. Ambadas Jadhav and the Principal of Lions English School Shri P. Dhanashekharan who also encouraged the participants.

The Devkiba Winter Mini Marathon was a 6.0 km run covering all major locations in Silvassa and was non-timed for run. The atmosphere of the marathon became even more vibrant with participation of marathon runners from in and out of Silvassa, students and staff of the school and college and police officers from Silvassa. Medals and certificates were given away to the winners and certificates were issued to all marathon runners. In various age groups the runner winners were as follows:
