DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE
The Department of Commerce started functioning on 7 th August 2014, with two courses namely B.Com and BMS. The Department is going to be upgraded as a Post Graduate Department in 2020 with the introduction of M.Com course. Today, it is ranked as one of the best, among the top Commerce departments in the vicinity of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The department offers an undergraduate course in Commerce with “Financial Accounting and Auditing” AS SPECIALIZATION. Moreover, the Department of Commerce also runs Bachelors in Management Studies and offers specialization in all the three fields, i.e, Human Resource, Marketing and Finance. The syllabus of BMS is highly practical and include internship and project, thereby giving students exposure to the working of industries. The curriculum of commerce education in this college is highly application oriented and hence the department follows a multidimensional pedagogy for different programmes that consists of:

The department of commerce has highly qualified and experienced teaching staff. Two of them are doctorate holders and 4 staff members have qualified N.E.T exam. The faculty of the department has published large number of research papers both in national and international journals. They have also presented papers at various seminars/conferences. The Department has proved its excellence with a committed staff and enthusiastic students who consistently bring kudos to the college in the field of academic and extra-curricular activities.

DEPARTMENTAL ACTIVITIES
Seminar in INTERPERSONAL SKILLS AND POSITIVE THINKING
Commerce department of Devkiba college conducted a seminar on INTERPERSONAL SKILLS AND POSITIVE THINKING, in association with IQAC. The session enriched students with knowledge of Rapport building, Eye contact, confidence buiding, leadership skills, listening skills, motivation, body language etc. This information and its implementation will help student in becoming more expert and confident in their respective fields in future. Overall a great learning experience for students.

Seminar On “Youth Transformation”
A Seminar On “Youth Transformation” in collaboration with IQAC and Department of Commerce was conducted in Our College on 30th Of August 2019.
It was a session focusing on thought that “Genius are not born they are made” Session provided students with knowledge of how to make there own success stories without giving any excuses, how to overcome bad habits, building up patience level through will power and so on. Various videos were shown so as to motivate students for having aim in life and being thankfull and greatful for everything.

Movie Based Learning
Movie based learning was organized by the department of Commerce, Devkiba College for fybcom and fybms classes. Students were shown the movie ‘ Guru’. Guru is inspired from the life of Mr. Dheerubhai Ambani. The movie focus on hardwork, innovation, risk taking in business and thinking different and out of the box. Students of management studies were specially benefited with the activity. Overall a great and funfilled learning experience for the students.
